Once again, the Southeastern Healthcare Preparedness Region's SMAT 2 / Medical Reserve Corps along with a large amount of support from the other SMAT 2's and 3's will be providing medical coverage at the finish line for the Ironman NC Race that will cover a good part of the region. Last year was a very successful event, and we were able to treat patients onsite, as opposed to them being transported by EMS to the emergency rooms. What a strain we were able to keep off of an already taxed system. This year's event will be bigger than ever, as this is a qualifying race for Ironman Hawaii, so more participants will be in the race. Your help is needed to make this a successful event.
As a volunteer of this event, you will receive all of your meals while you are at the event, an event t-shirt, and a great deal of experience working with other teams. Please note, we make every effort to accommodate dietary requests, but we are unable to this year provide VEGAN options. If you are vegan and wish to participate, you will have to provide your own meals.
With the use of this brief survey, you are able to sign up to assist in the event. Any assistance that you can offer is greatly appreciated.

AS OF TODAY OUR NEED IS FOR PHYSICIAN AND PHYSICIAN EXTENDERS. FROM THIS POINT FORWARD, ONLY VOLUNTEERS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED DUE TO OUR LIMITATION TO HOUSE STAFF.
