Eligibility

Everyday there is a new issue facing the public safety community. Whether it’s the opioid crisis, White House Executive Orders, cybersecurity, integrated active shooter response, terrorism, Supreme Court rulings or training and standards issues. These issues continue to challenge public safety, and there is a tremendous amount of work that needs to be done.

The IPSA advocates for the entire public safety community, and we are establishing a new Policy Task Force to work with the IPSA’s Executive Director to identify issues and respond to issues through the development of position statements, model policy development, issues papers and related research and materials to disseminate to the field. The Policy Task Force members will micro-volunteer to address an emerging issue.

Expectations
The IPSA expects all individuals applying to serve on the Policy Task Force to be dedicated professionals committed to seeing each engagement through completion.
  • Attend all Policy Task Force Meetings (meetings are remote).
  • Meetings will be held once a month.
  • Expect to volunteer up to 8 hours per month – one hour for the meeting and up to seven hours researching, writing and shaping policy for the IPSA’s consideration.
Requirements
  • You must be a current Active Member of the IPSA. If you are currently an Associate Member, you must upgrade your membership.
  • You do not need to reside in Arizona.
Term

There is no defined term limit for the Policy Task Force. The members will micro-volunteer to address an emerging issue. Individuals will be added and rotated depending on the current policy the IPSA will be developing.

Only applications from current IPSA Active Members will be fully reviewed and considered. If you are not a present Active member, then join today at www.joinipsa.org/Membership.
