The IMS is considering the possibility of starting IMS activity groups in topics of broad interest.
IMS Activity Groups could provide an intellectual forum for and catalyze interactions between IMS members interested in more deeply exploring a particular area of statistics, probability, or cross-disciplinary application. The subject of the activity group should be of current importance, broad enough to generate significant participation, yet focused enough to assure that goals are achieved, and could draw members of industry as well. Activity group members would receive targeted communications from peers, access to electronic membership directories, and if successful, potential support for activity group-sponsored sessions/meetings/awards.
Would you be interested in initiating or participating in such an IMS activity group?
