Use of Artificial Intelligence in Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR)

The International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) is undertaking a focused initiative on artificial intelligence (AI) across the global SAR sector. This includes conducting a sector-wide survey to assess current use, strengths, and challenges related to AI, followed by the publication of a report presenting the key findings. The aim of this work is to establish a global overview and benchmark for AI in maritime SAR. Based on these insights, the IMRF will identify and develop a targeted project to support the sector’s future needs in this area. Thank you in advance for your support and responses!
