2024 IIM Interim Management Survey

1. Introduction

Welcome to the 2024 annual IIM Interim Management Survey - our 15th edition.

Each year we benefit from your feedback on the survey format and scope and the team continue to refine the survey so that together, we can make this the best source of market information in the UK. This year, there are 5 fewer questions, a number of adjustments/clarifications as a result of the usual comprehensive review of how we seek information. Please keep the feedback coming: we do appreciate all your constructive comments. We estimate the changes made will bring your time investment for the full Survey, down a little more this year.

Your contribution as an interim professional matters: having the highest possible response rate continues to make this the best view of the UK interim market. With your input, we can maintain and improve the high quality explanation of our market situation for members and all participants.

Survey Timing
The scope of this survey is the twelve-month period from April 2023 to March 2024.

The survey is now open, will run throughout April and closes on Tuesday April 30th at 23.59 pm.

The Survey ISP (Interim Service Provider) rankings will be published on Monday June 3rd from 10.00 am on the IIM's Voice of Interim Management LinkedIn Group and "X" (formerly known as Twitter).

The full Survey Report will be published in mid June on the IIM website.

We recommend completing the Survey in one session, we estimate a little over 20 minutes should do it.

Participants
This survey is only for Interim Managers and Executives, broadly defined as independent people operating at or near board level who are 'normally' on gross day rates of £500+ (or gross equivalents for Fixed Term Contract - FTC - or Fixed Project Fees basis), except for certain Public Sector interims (e.g. NHS) with gross rates sub-£500 equivalent per day.

If you are otherwise a contractor (sub-£500), a consultant, a prospective interim manager, an ISP or client, or are a substantive member of staff, then we have no questions for you at this time (but thanks for coming by).

Personal Data and Survey Validation
For your reassurance, all survey answers are completely confidential and secure. We only ask for your name and email address if you wish to be contacted by the IIM - the IIM will not link your contact details in any way to your survey answers.

The IIM does not sell or release personal information to third parties. Your name and email address, if provided, remain 100% confidential.

For 2024, we are enhancing the validation of survey participants to further assure the quality of the survey findings for all contributors and the interim industry as a whole. We now ask you to provide your LinkedIn profile URL, which is already in the public domain. We do not use it for any other purpose and again, do not link your LinkedIn profile in any way to your answers.
