1. UNWTO - IGLTA Accommodation Survey
Background to this survey
The International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) is a proud Affiliate Member of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). In preparation of the Second Global Report on LGBT (lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual) Travel, both organisations are conducting the following online survey of selected accommodation providers.
The following survey asks questions on a range of subjects related to LGBT travellers and operating a hospitality business in different parts of the world. Topics include LGBT marketing campaigns, adapting to local legislation on LGBT rights, the impact of same-sex marriage legislation and opportunities for future market development. Even if your organisation has little experience in engaging with this market to date, we are still interested to receive your comments about these subjects.
The responses collected in this survey will be collated and presented in the aforementioned report, due to be released in the final quarter of 2016. Your answers will help to give readers a better understanding of the characteristics of the LGBT travel market, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with engaging with LGBT consumers. We hope that the final report will be of use to public and private sector organizations in understanding this particular segment of the global tourism sector.
