Introduction

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, University of Bergen, NORDUnet, Nordic Insight and the International Association of Universities (IAU) have partnered for the project :  Innovative Doctoral Courses for Sustainability (IDOCOS) and we are pleased to invite you to respond to this consultation on international collaboration in doctoral education.

The pandemic has forced a more integrated use of technology and digital tools in higher education and it has become part of everyday life of students in most parts of the world. The IDOCOS project seeks to leverage this opportunity by proposing an innovative approach to co-creation and sharing of doctoral courses among universities in different countries.

It proposes a structured process and comprehensive guidance supporting the move towards more internationally co-created and shared resources for doctoral education to enhance reciprocal exchange of research capacity, resources, to increase competencies and ultimately strengthening high-quality research education through international collaboration. The project also provides a demonstration cross-disciplinary doctoral course focusing on digital transformation, the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 UN Agenda.

For the development of the deliverables, it is essential to be informed by the current context and experiences of the universities and higher education institutions around the world to ensure that the project responds to the needs and that it is of relevance to as many institutions as possible.

We have therefore developed this short consultation composed of only 15 questions about doctoral education and international collaboration. It takes only 5-10 minutes to complete. We will be pleased to share the project deliverables with you to thank you for your time and contribution!

Thank you in advance for your participation!
