The California Department of Justice, Bureau of Children’s Justice (BCJ) ICWA Compliance Task Force (Task Force) is an advisory, independent Task Force with a mission to prepare a report for the BCJ on ICWA compliance in California. Our deadline is February 1, 2016. This survey is being sent to tribal leaders. We encourage you to circulate the survey to your tribe’s social services/human services staff, tribal representatives in ICWA cases, tribal service providers, tribal court judges, tribal attorneys and tribal court personnel to provide confidential feedback on Dependency Cases involving ICWA issues and other ICWA cases in California.
DO NOT PROVIDE NAMES OF CHILDREN, PARENTS, INDIAN CUSTODIANS OR ANY OTHER IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IN THE SURVEY.
Please identify a case(s) where your tribe has or is experiencing ICWA compliance issues, or with the application of the ICWA in a specific county. Please fill out a separate survey for each county and each case that you would like to address.
