Richmond Human Rights Task Force -Human Rights Commission Survey

Richmond City Council established a Task Force on the Establishment of a Human Rights Commission to evaluate the need for and scope of a Human Rights Commission.

Please use the survey below to indicate your experiences that occurred in the City of Richmond within the past five years. The survey will be open for 3 weeks, from August 30, 2017 - September 21, 2017. WE HAVE EXTENDED THE CLOSING DATE TO MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2017 AT 11:59 PM.

In accordance with §15.2-853, Virginia Human Rights Commissions exercise powers and duties to serve as an agency for investigating complaints regarding discriminatory practices, holding hearings, processing and/or assisting in the voluntary resolution of complaints. The provisions of the Virginia Human Rights Act (Va. Code §2.2-3900) safeguards individuals from unlawful discrimination and under §15.2-853 allows that a governing body may enact an ordinance prohibiting discrimination in housing, real estate transactions, employment, public accommodations, credit and education on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, national origin, age, marital status or disability.
