Specialisterne and Altogether Autism are seeking expressions of interest from autistic individuals for roles in the hospitality industry in New Zealand.

  • At this stage this is only an expression of interest (meaning there are currently no positions or employment programs confirmed).
  • Our aim is to determine whether there are autistic individuals looking for work in the hospitality industry nationally, and we are particularly interested in individuals who live within Wellington and those who live within a commutable distance from Wellington (or who would be willing to relocate to Wellington).
  • We are in the process of finding employers to work with in New Zealand as we know many autistic individuals are facing barriers to employment via the traditional recruitment process.

Please complete this survey if:
  • You are interested in working in the hospitality industry (specifically as a Room Attendant, Food and Beverage Attendant, Receptionist, Concierge, or Chef), and
  • You live in New Zealand, and
  • You are autistic (i.e., you have a diagnosis of autistic disorder, autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s or PDD-NOS).

General instructions for completing the survey:

  • Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time by exiting the survey.
  • All questions with an asterisk * sign must be answered.
  • If you would like to change your answer to a question in a previous page, you can use the‘previous’ button at the bottom of the page to go back and make the changes.
We anticipate this expression of interest survey should take no longer than 25 minutes.

All information collected will remain completely and strictly confidential. Only the researchers at Altogether Autism and Specialisterne Australia will have access to the identified data. Any information shared with companies external to Altogether Autism and Specialisterne will be de-identified.
