Hope Farm Share Information

Welcome and thank you for your interest in a Hope Farm Share!!

Located in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Houston, Hope Farms is a 7.5-acre urban farm dedicated to improving community health by providing direct access to healthy and affordable fresh fruits and vegetables.  By becoming a Farm Share Member, your support is not only a powerful choice in your own consumption of local, sustainable produce but also creates a deeper impact in the Houston community at-large by supporting Recipe for Success in its mission to foster generations of healthy kids by changing the way we all understand, appreciate and eat our food.

For the past 11 years, the Recipe for Success Foundation has been on the front lines of the childhood obesity epidemic by creating positive, hands-on experiences in the garden and culinary classrooms for over 30,000 school students. Available nationally, our Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education program serves as a vehicle for powerful food-based learning experiences that incorporate science, math, history, poetry and art and ultimately culminate in changing the way kids eat. Beyond the classroom, the Foundation produces a variety of other programs to promote a culture where nutritious food is shared, appreciated and celebrated, including the VegOut! Challenge, Farmers MarKIDS and Eat It! Food Adventures book series.

In addition to promoting local, sustainable agriculture the farm will also offer:
  • On-Site Farm Stand open regular hours, offering special "Neighbor Prices" for seasonal produce, eggs and honey
  • Cooking and Gardening Classes for Adults and Children
  • Year-long training Scholarships for Military Veterans to become new Urban Farmers
  • S.P.I.C.E. Guild Memberships for Volunteers
  • Open Farm Days and Events
  • Chefs in the Field Dinner Series
  • Robust Youth Programming, including: Field Trips for School Groups; Summer Camp for kids 8 - 12; Special Programs for Middle and High-School Students; Scout Journeys and Patches

Hope Farms is committed to growing Quality, fresh produce year round.  By becoming a Farm Share Member, each week you will receive a share of delicious, seasonal produce grown and harvested directly from the farm.
