Colorado Teachers and Educators--
History Colorado is excited to tell you about a new project currently underway--
and to ask for your help ensuring it will work well in Colorado's classrooms.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), History Colorado is designing, piloting, evaluating, and rolling out digital badges statewide which will work alongside new online learning environments to support and expand teaching Colorado history across grade levels.
It starts by putting some of Colorado’s most important history stories online so students can see them at school, home, or anywhere else. Want to see an example? Here's one we just completed (it will open in a new window): Amache Grenada Relocation Center.
For each of these websites, we will add digital badges. Badges show students' progress and accomplishments. Badges can be given to history or social studies students anytime they make connections, think in new ways, or apply what they're learning-- inside or outside of the classroom.
Of course, it is paramount that the digital badges we create meet your needs in the classroom, and this questionnaire will help make sure that happens. Please take 10-15 minutes to complete the questions. We want to hear from as many educators as possible so we can be informed about what works for you and what you need from this platform.
If you don't know much about digital badges, that's ok. We hope to hear from both early adopters as well as those who don't currently use much technology in the classroom.
At the end of this anonymous questionnaire you will have the opportunity to sign up to help us with piloting and evaluation along the way if you'd like. There is also an option to enter a drawing for a $25 gift card as a thank you for your participation. Your contact information will not be linked to your survey responses and we will not use this information for any purposes other than this project.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our external evaluator: Kate Tinworth, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you so much for your time and your insights!
