Seattle Parks and Recreation has a new project underway at the Hiawatha Playfield that will demolish and rebuild the play area. We plan to move the play area away from among the trees to reduce the risk of injury from limb fall. Additionally the new location, just south of the wading pool, will move it closer to the community center, improve play area visibility, and cluster activities in keeping with the original Olmsted Plan for Hiawatha Playfield.
The following survey gives you and other community members an opportunity to share your ideas about the play area. We are interested in finding out more about how you use Hiawatha Playfield and park features you value or would like to see at the new play area. Although we can't include all features in our design, our goal is to work with the public to create a community led design for the new play area at Hiawatha Playfield!
