If you want to gain practical tools to begin incorporating restorative practices your personal or professional lives…

Come join us for this training experience!

If you are interested in volunteering with us, Part A is a required fundamental training.

Through this training, you will learn restorative justice philosophy as well as foundational theories around conflict to help explore root causes of harm, inform community based justice and offer holistic healing.

Participants will gain an understanding of our “Restorative Practices in Communities (RPIC)” program and the different modalities of restorative practices utilized for our case referrals received from: police departments, courts, probation, community based organizations, group homes, and families.
  • Learn community mediation theory and core principles of restorative justice
  • Explore ways intersectionality impacts conflict and harm
  • Explore modalities of community justice, healing and accountability
  • Practice circle keeping
  • Learn about future opportunities to volunteer with our RPIC program (Parts B-D required to become a volunteer)

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must submit volunteer training application
  • Must attend all training sessions 
  • Must pay $125 enrollment fee (limited scholarships available based on need; payment plans available)
Additional requirements to continue on to Parts B-D to become a Healing Harms Volunteer:
  • Must complete Part A of training series
  • Must agree to fulfill 12-month volunteer commitment
  • Must consent to a LiveScan background check (criminal convictions do not necessarily disqualify you from service)
  • Must pay $125 enrollment fee (limited scholarships available based on need; payment plans available)

Part A will be offered twice during Summer 2018. Choose from one of the following training options:

*Friday, July 20th, 9am-5pm — Kaiser Permanente Counseling Watts Counseling and Learning Center
Saturday, July 21st, 9am-5pm — CCEJ Office
Registration deadline: July 2nd

Part A: Introduction to Restorative Justice
*Friday, Aug. 10th, 9am-5pm — Kaiser Permanente Watts Counseling and Learning Center
Saturday, Aug. 11th, 9am-5pm — CCEJ Office
Saturday, Aug. 18th, 9am-5pm — CCEJ Office
Registration deadline: July 30th  Extended through Aug. 3rd!
