Rural Municipality of Headingley - Housing Vision and Study

Landmark Planning & Design has been retained by the RM of Headingley to lead a Housing Vision and Study for the community. As part of this study, the project team is seeking input from residents on a variety of housing-related topics.

On April 30, 2018, a series of community workshops were held in order to introduce the study's scope and purpose, as well as receive input from the community. The presentation materials from the community workshop can be found here:

After reviewing these materials, please answer the following questions:

* 2. How long have you lived in Headingley?

* 3. If you moved to Headingley from elsewhere, where did you move from?

* 4. Why do you choose to live in Headingley?

* 5. How many people live in your household?

* 6. What age cohort do you belong to?

* 7. What lot sizes are appropriate for Headingley?
(Potential discussion points: lot widths/depths, status quo, larger lots/smaller lots, a mix of lot sizes, area dependent, etc.)

* 8. What are your thoughts on housing types in Headingley?
(Potential discussion points: single-family, two-family, townhouses, multi-family, seniors' housing)

* 9. Should the RM of Headingley consider housing types other than single-family homes? Why or why not?

* 10. If yes, where in the RM should other housing types be located (see map below)? If no, skip to Question 11.

* 11. Are there any gaps in housing that you would like to see addressed?
(Potential discussion points: different types of single-family housing, seniors' housing, affordable housing, luxury housing, other housing types)

* 12. What are your thoughts about housing design?
(Potential discussion points: landscaping, fencing, building materials, facades, buffers and setbacks, garages, etc.)

* 13. Looking ahead 20 years, how do you see Headingley  (particularly in regards to housing)?
(Potential discussion points: Status quo [i.e. semi-rural, large lots, single-family homes], status quo with changes, other)
