Solid Waste Management Plan - Community Survey

The Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District is in the process of updating its 15 Year Solid Waste Management Plan. This Plan will help Hamilton County effectively manage the solid waste that is expected to be generated within the County. An important part of developing the Plan involves soliciting feedback from stakeholders.

Following is a brief survey. Your input is crucial and responses to this survey will help the County consider your needs regarding recycling, composting, and waste disposal.

Earmark a portion of Hamilton County's RRI budget line item to help communities with low recycling rates.

Allow yard trimmings to be counted towards the RRI.

Base RRI funding levels on the type of residential recycling program provided by communities. For example, the highest dollars/ton would be distributed to communities that have Pay-As-You-Throw waste collection. The lowest dollars/ton would be distributed to communities that have subscription-based curbside recycling and no recycling drop-offs.

No longer allow communities to purchase recycled-content products with RRI dollars.
