Informed Consent Statement
This is a study about the natural hair social movement. This study asks Black men and women for their thoughts. You are invited to participate because you are a Black man or woman over age eighteen. A total of 50 participants will be recruited for this study. If you decide to participate, you will complete an online survey. You will be asked some questions. These will be questions about the natural hair social movement. The survey will take approximately 10 to 20 minutes. Once you complete the survey, you will be invited to a follow-up interview. You do not have to join the follow-up interview.
In this study, you will not have any more risks than you would in a normal day of life.
Participating in this research study may not benefit you personally. Overall, we hope to gain information about the natural hair social movement.

Participation in research is voluntary. You do not have to be in this study. If you decide to be in the study and change your mind, you have the right to drop out at any time. You may skip questions or stop participating at any time. Whatever you decide, you will not lose any benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.
We will keep your records private to the extent allowed by law. We will use study numbers, initials, and/or fictitious names rather than your name on study records. The information you provide will be stored in a locked location. Your information may be stored in a password and firewall-protected computer. You will not be identified personally. This is an online survey. Data sent over the Internet might not be secure.
