Re-Opening School Questionnaire

Odessa's School Re-opening Committee is exploring options for our students this fall and would like to seek your input prior to our next meeting. At this point in time, many class sizes exceed DOH requirements for social distancing so a traditional instructional model is not likely an option. We must explore creative options in order to re-open our school.

Please consider the following information when selecting from the three options that the committee is considering proposing to the school board and for state approval:

--Daily health screenings required for each student including temperature checks.

--Students and staff wear face coverings.

--Physical Distancing required (desks spaced apart, lunch in classrooms at some grade levels, limited interaction with others outside of the classroom).

Face to Face Instruction Monday - Friday with a release time of 1:35 p.m. daily. This option allows for a common prep period for teachers at the end of the day while maximizing staffing available each hour to provide instruction to smaller groups of students.

Rotating schedule where each student attends school 2 days per week for Face to Face instruction and 3 days of instruction in a remote/distance learning setting. Ex. Group A attends school on Monday/Tuesday, Group B on Thursday/Friday. In this scenario, students from the same family would attend on the same day (A or B grouping).

Offsite Distance Learning 2.0 -- A more rigorous system than what was offered in the spring including live and recorded videos combined with contact with staff during scheduled class periods.
