Please nominate an individual in the comment box, you feel is the best representative of a Peer in WV who embodies the character, wisdom, leadership, and values of the award named after the preeminent developer of peer support, Ted Johnson. Ted helped usher peer support into West Virginia while serving the Adult Division for the Bureau for Behavioral Health in WV. He developed much of the structure and programs that led to the employment and practice of peer support through the development of the WV Leadership Academy for Consumers and Families, supporting Recovery Planning, ongoing advocacy, leadership, and championing the value of peers to support others and help change the paradigm of healthcare delivery in WV.
