The Ecology Commission of CSCD has been approached about the feasibility of installing a Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charger somewhere within CSCD – as the nearest public chargers are approximately 30 minutes away. (Note: A Level 2 Charger will add approximately 15-30 miles of battery range per charging hour.) If installed, the intent would be for a public charger to be open to residents and guests for a charging fee – with the revenue generated going to CSCD. The initial sunk cost will be in the $15,000-$20,000 range from the CSCD budget and annual $500 fee to CSCD operating expenses. The annual revenue generated for CSCD would be in the $3,500-$4,500 range. The project would payout over 5 years with approximately 1 charge per day.
*For those that don't have EV's and are not familiar with the charging process, having a
public charger installed would make the CSCD EV charger station "discoverable" on a public EV Map phone app so that anyone, even from outside our area (meaning not being a resident or invited guest) could locate the charger and come in to use it.*
An important question the Committee has asked is whether an EV Charger would get enough utilization within the Conservancy. Accordingly, we’re hoping you can take a moment to complete the following brief Electric Vehicle survey.
