The Business Administration Faculty Discipline Review Group (FDRG), composed of CCC and CSU faculty, re-opened the Business Administration TMC for review due to concerns surrounding changes to the C-ID statistics course descriptor (Math 110). Specifically, that the removal of intermediate algebra as a prerequisite for C-ID Math 110 is considered a substantive change that could impact student’s preparation for, and success, in upper division course work. As a result, the FDRG is proposing revisions to the Business Administration TMC. The proposed modifications to the TMC are intended to prepare students for transfer and provide them with the interdisciplinary preparation necessary for upper division success.

After extensive discussion and research the Business Administration Faculty Discipline Review Group (FDRG) (composed of CCC and CSU faculty) is proposing revisions to the Business Administration TMC.  The proposed modifications to the TMC are intended to prepare students for transfer and provide them with the interdisciplinary preparation necessary for upper division success.

The proposed modifications are as follows:

-  Finite Math (MATH 130), Business Calculus (MATH 140), or  College Algebra (MATH 150) are now included in the core.

-  The inclusion of a required statistics course (Math 110) to address concerns regarding adequate lower division preparation for transfer students.

-  Addition of an Introduction to Business (BUS 110) course to the core, in order to broaden the business foundation for transfer students, and better prepare them to choose an upper division major.
