Hot Topics for the 2023 Annual Meeting & Conference

AALL is surveying members to gather input about potential Hot Topic programs for the 2023 Annual Meeting & Conference in Boston on July 15-18, 2023.

Hot Topics focus on current events, news stories and other relevant topics that emerged after the initial submission timeline. Your feedback will help shape this year's conference. Please select up to five Hot Topics that you think are pertinent to include this year.

Critical librarianship: taking a comprehensive meta-view of what law libraries/librarians do—and what we should consider changing.

Diversity in the Profession: Incorporating DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging) best practices in recruitment, hiring, and retention through the creation of toolkits, marketing materials, hiring practices, etc.

Idaho slayings case: law enforcement use of genealogy data—where to draw the line?

Moving Beyond Print: Many publishers no longer offer print versions of vital resources. As law librarians, how should we respond? Does this issue go beyond CRIV? Who can access these resources, and who will be denied access going forward?

Pipeline to the Profession: How to attract more people to the field of Law Librarianship, especially a more inclusive group. We are mostly working with a very limited number of professionals. We need to develop a new pipeline of up-and-coming law librarians.
