Performing Arts Team
Afternoon workshops, 1:30-5:30
12 students will work with professional dancer Takiyah Ward to choreograph an original 8-20 minute movement performance. The work will showcase at a major community gathering on July 27th at Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Park. The theme of class is: Finding Your Bounce! How do you bounce back from hard times? What pulls you through? The choreography will utilize exercise balls and integrate many styles of movement.

Visual Arts Team
Morning workshops, 9:00-1:00
12 students will work hands-on with power tools in Coyote’s professional woodshop. Guided by professional artist Marijke Keyser they will design and build large scale ladder sculptures to express how they face and climb out of challenges. Students will decorate ladders using paper-mache, found objects, paint, and more. Work will be topped with 3D emblems designed and built in teams. They will get a look at the life of a professional set designer and work in at least 3 visual art mediums. Sculptures will be maneuvered by performers to link the projects together.
