GWA Honors 2017 Nominations

Members can recognize the achievements of their peers with a 2017 Honors Nomination. To honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to the GWA objectives, please complete the nomination form below.

The choices for GWA Honors this year are as follows:

Fellow recognizes a member in good standing who has demonstrated exceptionally high degrees of skill, professional ethics and dedication to the GWA mission and values. Two members may be elected Fellows each year.

Honorary Member recognizes a non-member who has contributed measurably to the GWA mission and values through professional or avocational activities, but is not otherwise qualified for GWA membership.

Hall of Fame is the highest honor GWA can bestow on a person whose life and career has materially affected and advanced the mission and values of GWA.

Wilfred J. Jung Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to an allied member who has contributed significantly to the promotion of home gardening and garden communications. Only one award winner may be named each year.

Emergent Communicator Award recognizes a member under the age of 40 who has demonstrated exceptionally high degrees of skill, professional ethics and dedication to the GWA mission and values. Self-nominations are welcome. Only one award winner may be named each year.

NEW! Cynthia Westcott Scientific Writing Award recognizes individuals with PhDs who communicate new ideas, concepts or scientific findings related to horticulture and gardening in terms that are easily understood by laypersons.
