Stormwater runoff from construction activities can cause negative impacts to aquatic systems. Polluted stormwater runoff can harm or kill fish and other wildlife, and sedimentation can destroy aquatic habitat. High volumes of runoff can cause stream bank erosion, and debris can clog waterways and cause local flooding. For these reasons, construction site runoff is regulated under state stormwater permits (TXR150000) and the Denton Development Code (subchapter 7).

The following survey is designed to provide city staff with information needed to determine the level of permit coverage required for your site and aid in maintaining compliance on site. If you have any questions, you can contact the City of Denton Watershed Protection Division at 940-349-7141 or watershed@cityofdenton.com.
