Join our working group
We are making a new plan for cancer care.
The plan is for people with disability who have cancer.
The plan will help make cancer care:
- Fair
- Safe
- Good
- The same in all parts of Australia
We need people to help make this plan.
Who is making the plan?
- Cancer Council Australia
- Australian Federation of Disability Organisations
- Melbourne Disability Institute
The Australian Government is paying for the plan.
What is the plan?
The plan is called
Optimal Care Pathway.
It shows how to care for people with cancer.
It helps:
- Doctors
- Health workers
- People with cancer
It helps them choose the best care.
People with disability can have problems getting cancer care.
This plan can help fix these problems.
You can join this group of you are:
- A person with disability who has had cancer
- A family member or carer
- A health worker
- A disability support worker
You can live anywhere in Australia.
What will you need to do?
If you join, you will:
- Go to 3 online meetings in 2026
- Read information we send you
- Tell us what you think
- Follow the group rules.
Payment
We will pay people in the group.
If you are chosen, we will tell you more about payment.
We will pay:
- People with disability
- Family members or carers
Apply by 6 April
We will contact you by 10 April
Privacy
We will keep your information private.
We will only use it for this project.
We will not share it with anyone else.
