In December 2014 Tourism Kangaroo Island launched its online Our Kangaroo Island Ambassador Training Program. Developed by a specific team with diverse industry and training knowledge, the Our Kangaroo Island Ambassador Training Program was one of the key outputs of the Kangaroo Island Tourism Employment Plan. Because it was a high priority for our Island, significant funding was invested into the program and ongoing resources have been dedicated to its continuation.
The program’s primary aim is to be a valuable training resource for tourism, hospitality, food, wine and retail sectors of Kangaroo Island, providing participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver quality customer service and act as Island Ambassadors with local knowledge and know how. It also works as a valuable tool to help businesses improve their visitor engagement and customer satisfaction.
Information regarding the program was widely distributed via email blasts and on the Tourism Kangaroo Island member's website, and also distributed in local media, social media, and via a range of other means.
We are now about to update the training program, and add some further elements based on the seasonality information gathered as part of the Open All Year Project.
The following survey will help us adapt it to better deliver to your needs as a Kangaroo Island business. The information you provide will be treated in confidence and all responses will be aggregated; under no circumstances will the personal identity of survey participants be revealed beyond the immediate research team.
