Crow Wing County Comprehensive Plan Update
Crow Wing County is updating its Comprehensive Plan, now through May of 2025. The county last prepared a comprehensive plan in 2003, and since has experienced steady population growth and economic development that has brought opportunities such as more jobs and better services. However, it has also resulted in challenges such as housing shortages and increased traffic. This comprehensive plan will ensure Crow Wing County has a clear direction for making future decisions related to land use and developments that reflect the communities’ needs.
A comprehensive plan defines the vision, goals and aspirations for the long-term development and redevelopment of the community. The plan is intended to guide land use and transportation patterns, conserve natural resources, and identify needs for utilities, housing and parks and open space. The comprehensive plan also guides decisions on both public and private investments in infrastructure and facilities. This plan will help the county identify community priorities and goals and provide an implementation strategy for achieving those goals.
Public input is critical in updating the plan. We need to hear from the community to help us identify issues, opportunities, and priorities. Help us by answering these short questions.
