APSE Survey - Impact of extreme heat on the school meals service

This survey is intended for local authority school caterers and school meals providers. Its purpose is to gather timely information on how the current heatwave is affecting school meal operations, including food supplies, storage, menu planning, pupil choices, staffing, costs and any disruption caused by partial or full school closures.

The information collected will help build a clearer picture of the pressures facing school catering teams during periods of extreme heat and identify what support, guidance or contingency planning may be needed.

The survey should take approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. All responses will be kept anonymous. Please answer as fully as you can, using examples where helpful.
