Introduction

The HSE is developing its first strategy for the National Health Library and Knowledge Service. This will

·       Support the changing needs of health and care in Ireland.

·       Maximise the use of the professional expertise of library staff and professional librarians.

·       Be informed by the latest evidence and research.

The strategy will also be user centred and build upon the needs, values and preferences of users. This survey is designed for people who use or might use the HSE library and knowledge service. It asks you about what you need the national health library and knowledge service to provide, and how these services should be provided to best meet your needs. We are interested to hear your views even if you do not currently use the service.

This survey is part of a development process which includes an international evidence review, engagement with strategic stakeholders in Ireland and site visits and engagement with health library and knowledge service staff. It will also include consultation workshops to which you are invited:

·       Tuesday 23rd January 2018 in Dublin

·       Wednesday 24th January in Galway.

Please register for the workshops through www.hselibrary.ie

The HSE has commissioned SMCI Associates to undertake the development of the strategy.

This survey questionnaire will take you about 10 minutes to complete, and all responses will be confidential to SMCI Associates. The anonymous analysis of the response to the survey will inform the development of the national health library and knowledge service.

You have the option of providing your email address at the end of the survey if you want to be entered into the prize draw to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet donated by Wolters Kluwer
