Purpose and Departmental Intent in 'Residents' Open Line' Implementation
The Department of Family Medicine is focused on nurturing an environment where quality rests at its center. In order to do this, leadership is examining various ways to improve processes and programs. To improve the residency training experience, the department is making it a priority to welcome new ideas, hear concerns, and create a more collaborative teaching and learning environment for residents. This platform is being provided to USA Family Medicine Residents as a step toward improving communication. Here, ideas and concerns may be expressed either anonymously or including your identity. Residents who choose to submit content anonymously may provide brief details about desired outcomes. Please know that this platform is NOT a substitute to filing official cases of policy violation with Graduate Medical Education. The intent here is to provide a monitored line of communication for residents, where ideas and/or concerns may be expressed. Should any resident file a concern where a policyviolation is apparent, it is the obligation of the department to forward the details of the submission directly to the Office of Graduate Medical Education for further investigation.
NOTE: Anonymity will be preserved. As an effort to provide safeground for residents to openly express ideas and concerns regarding the program and their experiences, we vow to uphold your decision to submit ideas and concerns anonymously. No analytics will be used to identify you by IP address or any other web session analytics.
All submissions will be fielded by Dr. Barry Porter and then directed to the appropriate parties to be addressed. Ideas will be collected and presented in the appropriate forum. Concerns will be addressed in confidence.
