I'd love to hear your feedback on some of the most important and controversial bills that have been dropped. The bills are listed below--please provide your input in the text boxes provided.
1.
HB 1178 - Concerning local government authority to regulate firearms
This bill removes the provisions limiting local regulation of firearms, and would allow for local governments to adopt laws relating to firearms.
2.
HB 1045 - Creating the evergreen basic income pilot program
This bill establishes a basic income pilot program providing 24 monthly payments of the rate for a two-bedroom unit in their county, to up to 7,500 qualifying participants. The people receiving these funds must be eligible for certain assistance programs.
3.
HB 1240 - Establishing firearms-related safety measures to increase public safety
This bill prohibits the manufacture, importation, distribution, or sale of assault weapons. An exception is provided for some licensed dealers, and inherited assault weapons.
4.
HB 1363 - Concerning vehicular pursuits
This bill allows for law enforcement vehicular pursuits if the passengers in the car are believed to have committed a crime.
5.
HB 1024 - Concerning labor and income of incarcerated persons
This bill requires that the wage paid to an incarcerated person for their work must be no less than the state minimum wage.
6.
HB 1479 - Concerning restraint or isolation of students in public schools and educational programs
This bill prohibits schools from isolating or restraining students in nonemergency situations.
7.
HB 1131 - Improving Washington's solid waste management outcomes
This bill transfers the financial responsibility of recycling to producers, and creates a bottle-deposit system in Washington.

These bills top excessive rent hikes, give renters stability, and empower the Attorney General to go after landlords who use rent increases as a mechanism to deny tenants of their legal rights.
9.
SB 5263 - Concerning access to psilocybin services (medical mushrooms) by individuals 21 years of age and older.
This bill allows for the medical use of psilocybin to treat behavioral health conditions.
10.
HB 1418 - Providing enrichment funding for charter public schools.
This bill allows for charter schools to be eligible to apply for state grants on the same basis as a school district.
