MA Corpus Lexicography

The Research Group in Computational Linguistics is looking to develop a new Masters course in Corpus Lexicography. To ensure we get the content just right we need you! Please help us by giving your input via the following short questionnaire. Thank you!

In this module, you will learn how to use corpora as a source of linguistic data to study languages.

* 4. How interesting would you find a module in Lexicography: Theory and Applications?

This module will focus on the nature of meaning – how people use words to create meaning and how we, as dictionary makers, record this information?

* 5. How interesting would you find a module in Tools for Lexicographers?

In this module, you will learn how to write dictionary entries using sophisticated computer tools.

* 6. How interesting would you find a module in Computational Linguistics?

This module will provide you with a basic overview of the field of Computational Linguistics, featuring lectures on a variety of topics in automated linguistic processing of text.

* 7. How interesting would you find a module in Bilingual Lexicography?

This module will allow students to learn about the theory and practice of creating dictionaries that translate meanings from one language to another.

* 8. How interesting would you find a module in Functional Grammar?

This module will allow you to learn about the basics of English grammar by focusing on the function of language and its elements.

In this elective module, you will learn how to use the Python programming language to process languages.
