About Your Bus Service

Haileybury operates a bus network to and from the Keysborough campus using a combination of both Metlink and Ventura bus routes. Haileybury subsidises the services to an annual amount exceeding $400,000 and also receives support from Metlink to provide a number of the routes that are operated.

CHANGES IN 2018

Ventura have introduced a Bus Tracking application (Ventura Tracker) that can be downloaded to Smart Phones for information about the Haileybury Route Buses to and from Keysborough. This App allows students and parents to see the location of the bus in the AM and PM periods in live time tracking and scheduled and actual bus arrival times and also allows the user to track students on and off the particular bus if activated.

Students will be required to use their Haileybury issued ID card to swipe on and off the bus for each Metlink or Ventura Private Route Bus trip so that the above information will be available. Students travelling on Haileybury MetLink Route buses will also need to swipe on and off with their Myki cards.

The App can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. The Ventura Tracker system can also be viewed on the Ventura website at; http://venturabus.com.au/school-routes/private-school-maps-times/

FEE INFORMATION

Users of the system are required to make a co-payment in order to run these services. Families have the following options available to them:
OPTION 1 - Full Time Annual Pass
This option is available to students attending the Newlands and Keysborough campus full time.

OPTION 2 - Limited Annual Pass (two-day)
This option is available to students attending the Berwick or Brighton campus in Years 10-12.

As part of Year 10-12 studies, students are required to attend the Keysborough campus two days per week. Transport is provided from their home campus to Keysborough on a Thursday, however the student will be required to make their own way to and from Keysborough on a Tuesday and home on a Thursday. If they choose to use the Haileybury bus network, they can purchase a limited annual pass (two-day).

OPTION 3 - Limited Annual Pass (one-day)

This option is available to students attending Berwick and Brighton campus in Year 9.

As part of Year 9, students are required to attend the Keysborough campus one day per week. Transport is provided from their home campus to Keysborough on that day, however students will be required to make their own way home. If they choose to use the Haileybury bus network, they can purchase a limited annual pass (one-day).

This option is also available to Year 9 & 10 City campus students who wish to use a Haileybury bus to return home on a Tuesday afternoon.

PRICING STRUCTURE FOR 2018

In order to introduce better equity into the bus pass fee structure, the fee for those students travelling on Metlink routes requiring a Myki will be discounted by the cost of the relevant Myki required.

The table below outlines the fees payable to Haileybury according to the options above:
Full time  2 Day Pass  1 Day Pass
Students on Ventura Routes  885 370 125
Students on Metlink Routes 291 125 44
Metlink Route Buses (B, D, E, F, H, J, K, L, Q, & V)

Full time use
Students are required to travel with a valid Myki on all these route buses.  Students should apply for a Myki Annual Student Pass which is currently $594.  You must apply for a PTV School Student ID card in order to get this rate (forms can be downloaded from the PTV website and the School declaration can be completed by Campus office staff).

Part time use
Students are still required to hold a valid Myki for these journeys.  Children aged between 5 and 18 (under 19) can travel on a child concession fare, however customers aged 17 and 18 must carry government issued proof of age identification or proof of another concession entitlement (such as PTV School Student ID or Health Care Card).

Please note that this is a requirement of Public Transport Victoria and therefore is out of the control of the School. Fines may be issued by Metlink in the event that a child is travelling without sufficient documentation.

Ventura Route Buses (A, D1, D2, D3, E1, E2, H1, H2, T & W)

No Myki card is required for these routes.

Note: the D1 to D3 and E1, E2, H1 & H2 are all additional buses on the Metlink D, E & H routes.   There are also at times additional buses duplicating these routes for capacity reasons, such as D1A, D2A, D3A, H1A.  Please see the Bus Route lists for the days and stops covered.
