1. Departmental Contacts for Fluorescent Light Legislation Implementation

Session Law 2010-180 (House Bill 1766) enacted by the General Assembly in 2010 establishes specific requirements on all state agencies, universities, community colleges, and other governmental entities regarding the management of spent fluorescent lights and mercury thermostats. The two main provisions of the Session Law require agencies to establish a program to recycle fluorescent lamps and mercury thermostats by July 1st of this year and to make a statutory report on those efforts by December 1st.
