Hickory Nut Gorge Recovery Plan Email Distribution Sign-Up

Henderson County Planning Department was approached by residents in the Hickory Nut Gorge area regarding whether there is something that can be done in Henderson County that is similar to the Chimney Rock action plan. In response, the County wishes to create a recovery plan to help residents and property owners to envision a brighter future for the area. The US-74A and US-64 road projects create an opportunity to consider the area's future including considerations for things like river access and recreation. Staff will continue to listen and learn from the residents and business owners who were directly impacted by the storm to create something meaningful and something the Commissioners can act upon if the community provides consensus.
