Introduction

As Australia moves into the recovery phase of the COVID-19 global pandemic, businesses are assessing the impacts the crisis has had on their workforces, communities, and the broader economy.

For many employers, the pandemic has opened up new ways of working; innovative strategies and considerations for work design and managing productivity and staff movements.

While a highly unique industry, resources and energy employers have some serious considerations and planning to do on future work design and determining how work will be performed in a post-pandemic environment.

This survey seeks to gain insight into the impacts of COVID-19 on Australia’s resources and energy workforce.

It seeks to discover what new and innovative ways of working are being implemented or considered in the resources and energy industry – both to prevent future transmission of COVID-19 and to capture productivity benefits unlocked through disruption.

AMMA invites members to provide examples of the changing work practices introduced or considered as part of the recovery phase.

Your insights will assist with understanding how work has changed, and how it will further change in the very near future.
