HIT CAPACITY AND READINESS FOR MEANINGFUL USE OF HIT

Purpose
This brief on-line survey is designed to provide a baseline status of the current capacity of behavioral health organizations in the U.S. regarding health information technology and readiness with respect to adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), meeting the standards for Meaningful Use (MU) of Health Information Technology (HIT) and the needs of behavioral health organizations for technical assistance and training to meet these objectives. Information you provide will assist us to advocate on your behalf to obtain support for pending legislation for health information technology for behavioral health organizations and focus our training efforts to meet your needs. This survey is being sent to all behavioral health organizations that are known (members and non members) of the partner organizations.

Instructions
This survey has been designed to take no more than 10-12 minutes time online. Questions are intended to apply to your organization, whether it has a single or multiple sites. If you have multiple sites, when in doubt or it is unclear whether a particular question relates to all sites, please respond as the question applies to your main or largest site.

Who Should Complete This Survey?
All organizations receiving this invitation should complete the survey regardless of whether or not you currently use EHRs or have started preparing for Meaningful Use. This survey should be completed by an appropriate, knowledgeable person as designated by the Executive Director or CEO of the organization.

Please complete the survey online no later than November 4, 2011.

Confidentiality and Questions
All responses will be CONFIDENTIAL. Summary survey results will be made available to third parties such as SAMHSA and state associations to assist in the partners’ advocacy and technical assistance planning efforts. Unless otherwise specified at the end of the survey, individual respondents will be identified in a limited state-specific data set which will be shared with your state association. These findings will help inform and facilitate their efforts to provide assistance to your organization. The name of the individual completing the response on behalf of the organization will never be shared. Neither the respondent’s name, nor the name of your organization will ever be used in any publication of the survey findings.
