Our industry will literally be categorised with dog racing and parks and gardens if you do not take action today and take note of this survey. NZ Board of Professional Skin Therapies (NZBPST) is urging all beauty and skin professionals to take this survey and take part in a submission to act upon a change of category our industry will soon be categorised under. We need your help, we need it now, and we need proactive people to step up and be heard please.

Question Title

* 1. Are you aware of the formation of Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) being created by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) ?

* 2. Have you seen that there will be Six Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) to be established that will be at the heart of this new classification system ?

Would you agree that Beauty therapy treatments & Beauty technology services we typically deliver including minimally invasive procedures such as skin needing, Laser & IPL would be better categorised under a healthcare or allied healthcare services rather than ' Creative, cultural, recreational, technology'?

The Hairdressing authorities (HITO), along with the NZ Association of Registered Beauty Professionals have chosen this category on behalf of the beauty industry and NZBPST (NZ Board of professional skin therapies) would like to change this to better reflect the healthcare aspect we deliver, including that our industry is legally regulated under the current healthcare system (eg: Auckland council health & Hygiene bylaw / Health act / Health & Disability commissioner) - if you scroll down here you will see the details for what our industry is currently listed under:
