1. General Information

We invite you to send us a proposal to exhibit in the Don Thompson Sensory Exploration Area our 2020 Annual Conference.

Now is your chance to be an ACTIVE participant in the 2020 NMAEYC Annual Conference by presenting a series of hands-on activities to ECE professionals to use in their classrooms and centers and/or to take back to train other professional in engaging young children. Activities should be geared for children, birth through age 8. Activities should be sensory, tactile, and hands-on.

Please join us to enhance each other’s knowledge of hands-on activities by sharing ideas that stimulate children’s development, respect individual learning styles, and help expand early childhood education environments through sensory exploration.

Join us and you plus three other group members in your organization will receive (3) free registrations for the 2020 conference.

This is a great time to promote and to share the kinds of activities that children look forward to doing in your classrooms. As an exhibitor, you will have the opportunity to attend some of the seminars and/or the Keynote Speaker.

Submissions will be accepted until  February 3 at 11:59 pm. We will be accepting proposals on a rolling basis, so please submit as soon as possible. Thank you for your interest, support, and willingness to share your knowledge.

If your proposal is accepted, up to 3 exhibitors in your team will receive free conference registration for the days you are exhibiting. That means you could attend the entire conference free (lunch not included). If your proposal is not accepted, we will honor Early Bird Registration rates.

A handout (with instructions, a recipe, etc) of the activity for your group is required during your exhibiting. Please provide enough copies to hand out to all participants. Don Thompson Sensory Exploration presenters are responsible for their own copying costs. Please bring enough materials for large groups of attendees to visit your table at least 3 times in the day.

The Sensory Exploration Area is open to conference participants the entire day, this requires that tables be staffed by at least 1 person at all times and by the full during peak times (registration and lunchtime). NMAEYC is not responsible or liable for any missing materials or personal items.

The Don Thompson Sensory Exhibit will be open during Registration and during lunch Friday, March 6, 2020- Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Albuquerque Convention Center between 1-2 pm (after the Luncheon). Presenters should plan to present for 10-15 minutes with time for questions and should plan to repeat their presentation 3-4 times.

* 1. EXHIBITOR GUIDELINES:

• Presentations must reflect developmentally appropriate practices as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and participating organizations.

• Selling in Don Thompson Sensory Exploration Area is strictly prohibited. NMAEYC’s stated policy is that “Don Thompson Sensory Exploration Area exhibitors may not use their session as a forum for product sales”. Exhibitors selling products may want to consider renting a booth in the Exhibit Hall. Please contact us at mandisa@nmaeyc.org if that is the case.

* 2. EXHIBITORS’ & NMAEYCS’ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own materials (hand-outs, etc), and anything else needed for their presentation and NMAEYC is not responsible for incurring any of the costs associated with acquiring, distributing or utilizing these materials and tools.

• NMAEYC will provide a sign with the name of the organization/exhibitor, a table for the activity and 3 chairs.

• Exhibitors receive free conference registration for the days they exhibit, no more than 3 in total. Lunch is not provided in this registration. NMAEYC is not responsible for the cost of registration for additional exhibitors or days that the exhibitor is not exhibiting.

• Exhibitors are responsible for being at their table during the entire duration of registration and lunch/exhibit hall activities time and must arrive at least 15 minutes early for each peak time. Exhibitors must check-in at the exhibitors table when registering. Exhibitors must setup their poster and station on Thursday or before registration opens on Friday or Saturday (times will be provided at least 2-3 weeks before the conference).
