Coaching Application
Wellesley United Soccer Club (WUSC) fields as many as 55 travel teams each season and relies exclusively on its volunteer coaches (a community of parent and non parent volunteers with varying levels of backgrounds and experience). Due to the size of the program, we need volunteer travel team coaches every year for teams in grades 4-8.
What's the Commitment?
Travel coaches are expected to run a minimum of one, if possible two practices a week and will play in the BAYS league which has a 10 week season (one game every Saturday). The club encourages travel teams to participate in tournaments and any other additional clinics or additional soccer activity.
How to Apply
Anyone interested in head or assistant coaching for Fall 2025-Spring 2026 completes a new application (this applies to ALL current coaches regardless of level or experience as well as new coaches). The travel committee reviews all applications and may ask for a follow on interview, particularly where we have multiple applicants per age group.
Travel Coaching Applications for Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 are due by June 12th. Decisions for coaching positions will occur in mid-June with coaches notified by late June. Please note, the coaches are assigned after the players put on teams.
Travel Committee: Each year, the Club's Board of Directors forms a Travel Committee which during the spring solicits coaching applications from anyone interested in coaching in the fall (and/or spring). It is the Club's policy and the Travel Committee's duty to objectively review ALL coaching assignments. Only the Travel Committee has the authority to appoint coaches to a team. Assistant coaches do need to complete the application and may want to express their interest to the travel director for each age group if they would like to be an assistant coach.
