In the context of global mobility, wellbeing means feeling supported as a whole person—emotionally, mentally, and socially—while navigating the uncertainties, transitions, cultural change and vulnerabilities of relocation.
This survey is a joint initiative between Sirva and RW3 CultureWizard. It is grounded in Sirva's holistic definition of wellbeing, developed using McLean & Company's approach, and is focused on the following six interconnected areas:
Physical Health
Engaging in activities or practices that support physical health (e.g. physical activity, eating nutritious meals, quality sleep).
Mental Wellbeing
Employing strategies to support emotional and psychological wellbeing (e.g. detaching from work, practicing mindfulness).
Interpersonal Connections
Cultivating supportive individual relationships within and outside of work, including family, coworker, and manager relationships.
Financial Security
Having access to financial and job security, including the ability to set financial goals (e.g. paying off student debt, saving for a house) and invest in preparation for future needs (e.g. saving for retirement).
Experience
Feeling a connection to or purpose for work and the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Engaging in opportunities for personal growth (e.g. knowledge, skills, abilities) through the completion of meaningful or intellectually stimulating tasks.
Belonging
Feeling accepted or a sense of inclusion within the organization and a connection to the organization’s values regarding community involvement and social responsibility, including the ability to participate in organization-sanctioned events that align with personal values and beliefs (e.g. volunteering, activism). For accompanying partners and spouses, this extends to building connection, acceptance, and a sense of belonging within the new community.
