Market Survey: Exploring a Mutual Islamic Funeral Fund

We are exploring the development of a Shariah-compliant funeral fund based on mutual assistance (Takaful). This fund would support the full costs of Islamic burials in Australia through collective community contributions.

Full burial costs comprise of three components:

Funeral Services (Transportation, Washing, Shrouding , Janaza service)
Plot (double or single grave)
Interment (digging and burying)

On average full burial costs range between $9,000 and $12,000 per person.

Your input will guide us in understanding whether such a fund is needed and how it could be designed to best serve our community.
