MVTA is proposing service changes constituting Title VI evaluation on routes 497 and 499, local routes serving Shakopee. These changes include:
- Replacing Route 497 and Route 499 with a new Route 429 (with A and B patterns)
Route 429 would be a new circulator route, effectively replacing Route 497 and Route 499 in Shakopee. Clockwise service would operate hourly on weekdays via 429A between 4:30 AM and 7 PM. Key destinations include:
- Marschall Road TS
- St. Francis Hospital
- Shakopee High School
- Shakopee VA
- Hy-Vee
- Town Square Mall
- Scott County Government Center
- Downtown Shakopee
Counter-clockwise service would operate during peak times on weekdays via 429B. Trips would serve the same destinations as 429A, as well as Southwest Intermediate School, which serves the school and GN ReSound.
MVTA is seeking public feedback on these changes. Public input is important to MVTA as the agency strives to provide responsive, effective, and optimized mobility solutions for the region. The public comment period will remain open until October 15.
