I am a 5/1 Generator and my colleague and co-teacher of Human Design, Melissa (a 5/1 Projector) have been diving deep into what makes the 5th line so mysterious and hard to really grasp.

I've been in my HD experiment for 10 years now, and I'm just now beginning to understand what it really means to be a 5/1, and why out of all of the Profiles and Types I work with, the 5th Line struggles the most in marketing and visibility - especially since we are here to have such an impact on others.

Your feedback about your experience as a 5th Line Profile (whether it's conscious or unconscious) is invaluable. Especially since most of the information out there about 5th lines, especially the 5/1 is just repetitive and descriptive, but lacks true practicality - even from 5/1s who write the descriptions!

I have no idea what you're talking about - I'm so new to Human Design.

I've read some things about projection, but I still don't understand what it means or how to recognize it.

My 5th line is conscious (5/1 or 5/2 profiles). I've become increasingly aware of the projections of others (positive & negative) and how it feels to receive those projections.

My 5th line is unconscious (2/5 or 3/5 profiles) and while I cognitively understand projection, I'm not sure I recognize it when it happens.

I trust my capacity to know which projections are correct for me and which ones aren't.
