State of Succession Planning within Caribbean MSMEs

4.1. General Information 

Is succession planning, a vital element of organizational change management sufficiently attended to within Caribbean micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)? Is it viewed as a long-term strategy within these organizations and attended to with the required level of seriousness to ensure long-term survival and prosperity? Are failures within Caribbean MSMEs significantly correlated to less than adequate attention to succession planning?

Understanding varying levels of responsiveness to succession planning, its supporting role in the reduction of organizational compromise and the extent to which poor or no succession planning has influenced and or resulted in organizational failure is vital and consequently identified as central to this research study.

This survey, a collaborative project of the Caribbean Center for Organizational Excellence (CCOE), Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP) and the Barbados Youth Business Trust (BYBT), is anonymous in nature and designed for aggregated collection of data. Upon conclusion of our assessment, results will be shared in a free webinar.
