Thank you for reviewing the draft Requirements for Haemopoietic Cellular Therapy (HCT Standard) and HCT consumer guide.
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) is responsible for leading national improvements in the safety and quality of health care. We do this by setting standards for health care, providing best practice guidance for health professionals and helping patients understand what they can expect from their care. The Commission has released the draft HCT Standard and is seeking feedback to understand whether the draft HCT Standard, supported by the HCT consumer guide:

• is easy to understand
• explains how HCT programs keep patients and donors safe
• covers the issues that matter most to consumers.

The HCT standard provides a framework for the collection, handling, storage and use of donor blood‑forming cells (including stem cells and immune cells) for transplants and therapies.

The Commission wants to hear from people who have:

• received a blood or bone marrow transplant using their own cells (autologous) or a donor's cells (allogeneic)
• received a cellular therapy, such as CAR T-cell therapy
• cared for or supported someone who has received one of these treatments
• donated cells for a blood or bone marrow transplant or cellular therapy.
