RAUMATI 25/26 - MAUAO KAITIAKI ACTIVATION
Kia ora, and thank you for expressing interest in being part of our Raumati 25/26 - Mauao Kaitiaki Activation.
This is our second year running this program, with over 50 volunteers participating last season. The program aims to provide an opportunity for our public to give back to Mauao, whilst also upholding an added layer of care for our maunga over the summer period.
The mahi for this period is to inform and engage with our public, welcome visitors to the area, provide directions, share kōrero, monitor any misbehaving, assist Josh the Mauao Ranger, and to record any daily observations which will assist in developing a maramataka for Mauao.
We are looking for whānau who are cool, calm and collected - People who can manage confrontations tastefully and uphold the mana of our maunga. Therefore we may require character references.
The minimum age is 16 years, and we’d like to see a range of ages, mai rangatahi ki pakeke. While we have a minimum age for the kaitiaki role, of course you are most welcome to bring your tamariki.
All full-day kaitiaki will receive a tee-shirt, and there may be spot prizes for those who put extra effort in.
