2024-2025 Hillsboro KS Water System Survey |
Lead and Copper Survey
In an effort to improve water quality and recent awareness regarding the safety of lead found in water lines, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, in conjunction with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, now requires all Public Water Supply systems to conduct a Lead Service line inventory of the public and privately owned water services within our municipality. The City of Hillsboro wants to stress to you that the City currently, and in the past, has had no lead issues without our water supply system. Lead content in the water supply is routinely tested by the KDHE laboratory and we would be required to notify our customers immediately if there was a high level detected.
Please fill out this survey to the best of your knowledge. It is crucial that the City of Hillsboro receive this information in a timely manner to complete our system's material evaluation. If we do not receive this information on your residence, or if you do not adequately identify your internal piping and we must answer "Unknown" for your address, the EPA may identify your internal piping as "needing to be replaced," at your personal expense in the future.
