The Lown Institute Vignette Competition highlights cases of everyday overuse - commonly performed medical interventions that seem acceptable, but can cause harm. Sharing clinicians’ stories of the negative consequences of overuse can be a powerful counterbalance to the ‘more is better’ culture in healthcare and can help others recognize and minimize overuse.

* The first author of the vignette must be a trainee.

See full description of the Vignette Competition on our website.
